I met Yuriy in 2016 when my wife and I were looking to buy a small condo when our apartment lease was up. When we met him, he was dressed clean and professional and got straight to understanding what we were looking for. He set up some searches and we soon started touring places to get a sense of what we could afford and what we wanted. We settled on a one bedroom with a cozy feeling that somehow felt much larger than the square footage indicated. As life moved on and our needs changed, we found ourselves looking to expand to a 2 bed+den condo or a townhouse in 2018. Yuriy guided us to a few specific family-oriented neighbourhoods - in Langley, South Surrey and Surrey. He helped us to look only in areas away from busy roads to minimize noise, which is a great idea. We toured dozens of homes, and Yuriy was very quick to point out the places that were quickly and cheaply built - things like single coats of paint on the fencing, which I never would have noticed, but I would be paying for in Strata fees already! This helped narrow down our search quite quickly until we found a townhouse that was on the market for 3 months in a pretty hot market. With his expert negotiations, he got information out of the selling agent and even got us a small discount off of list. It was an excellent find and we nabbed our townhome without a bidding war. On the selling side, Yuriy was excellent at guiding us through the process and advising on the perfect decorations to make the space look its absolute best. He lent us some decorations that took it from home-y to “wow” really easily. For the open home, we just had to polish the floors and set out the decorations. Then on multiple offers, Yuriy guided us through sorting them and negotiated with the buying agents to maximise the quality of our offers. Without Yuriy’s sharp eye, great negotiation and clear and concise communication, every step of our home owning and buying journey would have been impossible. Even since buying, Yuiry is a simple text away for great homeowner advice. He’s the kind of agent that once you work with, you’ll want to work with him forever.
