About Ken Neal
I started my Real Estate career at the age of 25. Ever since then, I’ve built my business on honesty and on a desire to treat my customers the way I like to be treated. My business plan is simple; I work to earn the trust of my clients and give them an experience beyond their expectations. Referrals and happy customers; these are the things that drive my business model. Nothing makes me happier than getting calls from family or friends of past customers asking me to do for them what I did for those who referred them. They call because they know they can trust me to always put their needs first.
And that trust is earned through a straight-forward approach that’s fair and honest; there’s no pressure, but there is a persistence that won’t quit until the customer’s needs are fully met. Fulfilling people’s dreams and helping them overcome obstacles – those are the two main things I love about real estate. My customers will tell you that “if Ken says he will do something, it will be done”.
I’ve been privileged to live, work and raise my family in the stunning Cowichan Valley. Since I started selling Real Estate in 1991, I’ve negotiated more than 2,000 successful sales and received some of the highest honors in the industry. I earned Re/Max of Duncan’s #1 Realtor prize 13 times, Pemberton Holmes Duncan # 1 Realtor 2015, # 2 Realtor in 2014 & 2016, # 4 Realtor in 2017 & 2018, Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (Zone 3 Cowichan Valley) #1 Realtor for units sold 8 years in a row, Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (entire board) #1 Realtor for units sold 4 times, and the Re/Max’s Chairman’s Award, Platinum Award, Lifetime Achievement Award and Hall Of Fame Award.
My wife Kari and I have been married for 34 years; we have both lived in the Cowichan Valley since we were kids. This has given us an unparalleled understanding of the properties, communities, neighborhoods, people, schools, organizations, trades, and business people that make this Valley such an incredible place to live.
We have two beautiful daughters, Michelle (Husband Andrew) and Krystyna both registered nurses, and our proudest achievement has been watching these girls grow into incredible young women. In 2020 we were blessed with our first granddaughter Blake; we are having so much fun with her and can’t be happier. I’ll also be the first to tell you that without the support of my family, I would never have been able to help so many others over the years.
I’m committed to a high level of communication with my clients; that has always been the top priority. I work to make them comfortable and spend time educating and listening to them, so that in the end, they can make their buying or selling decisions intelligently. This has paid off in the high percentage of repeat and referral customers.
When you’re looking for a Realtor, you don’t just want someone who knows how to sell a house. It helps if that person understands what goes into building a home. Between 2008 and 2013, I took a 5-year sabbatical from Real Estate sales for health and family reasons, and fulfilled a lifelong dream. During this period, I personally built 4 homes, giving me a greater understanding of what is behind the walls of the houses I sell.
Working with a Realtor should be a positive experience for you and your family. Selling or buying a home are both major events, and can involve life-changing decisions. These decisions should only be trusted to an agent who cares and understands what’s involved. That’s why every year, people just like you call me when they have Real Estate needs. Performing the job simply, honestly, and with integrity would be impossible without the support of clients and friends. I will work to continually earn and maintain your trust by providing the highest possible level of service. Take a close look at what I have to offer, and when you are ready to make that all-important Real Estate decision, make the right move – “call Ken today”.
