My past experiences with other real estate agents over many years had left me with varying degrees of satisfaction and disappointment. Ricardo was contacted well in advance of my intended rural home listing. This was due in part to liking what I had heard/seen about his real estate approach, character and to confirm using him as my agent. Even at that early stage in the process Ricardo took the time to explain the marketing process and provided a specific current market assessment for my home in its "as is" condition. He also supplied current real estate comps as well as suggested options to get my home ready. He kept in touch personally and through emailed monthly real estate market updates. As this process evolved he had the foresight to get me back on track when I felt I was derailed with completing the on-going renovations. The listing took place in November, which at that time was considered to be a period of low and slow sales. We agreed to a contingency Plan B. By doing so he prepared me for the possibility of a no sale and suggested how we deal with that scenario. Happily, that situation never arose. I feel that Ricardo concentrated his acquired experience and real estate approach towards the satisfactory end goal of this sale. Ricardo utilized his professional contacts for house staging and photography, including aerial photos. I feel that the listing brochure produced an accurate house and property representation, attributed in part to Ricardo's insight and that it did promote the sale. When an unusual issue arose, he drew from his experience and resources to have that problem quickly rectified. He was very hands-on throughout the whole process. The negotiation portion of the transaction provided me with another area where Ricardo showed his solid skills. Some of my previous real estate negotiation experiences left me feeling stressed, blindsided, ill represented and/or short changed. None of that happened with this agent during or after the negotiations. I know there are many real estate agents available to choose from. I also know from my experiences over the years that their abilities and motivations vary widely. I feel fortunate that my agent, Ricardo Melendro, has been for me, my one totally positive real estate experience. He provided a much needed calming effect during a very stressful time in my life. My belief in him is reflected in unhesitatingly referring him when asked. To this day Ricardo continues to communicate with me not only about real estate but life in general. Again I consider him to be a rarity in this profession.
