I would like to highly recommend Ken Didychuck! I am a first-time home buyer moving from BC to Alberta. So many unknown variables for me and a very intimidating process. I was originally working with a realtor for over 6 months before I came to Alberta, and when I arrived to look at homes, she unprofessionally bailed on me (after the 8 hour drive and constant communication about my requirements and needs). Ken stepped in at very short notice on a long weekend, and made things happen. He lined up several homes that met my criteria within hours of our first chat on the phone. I had a very successful day of viewing, and Ken was instrumental in helping me narrow my criteria to my exact needs. Ken new and related to my situation and had experience as a landlord (I was looking for a house with a mortgage helper). He had a background in construction and investment properties, so was able to give a fabulous insight into the things I needed a trusted opinion on. He helped with neighbourhood assessment (as I was unfamiliar with the area I was moving to) and gave good advice as to the condition and possible costs related to each home we looked at. I ended up putting an offer in on a home that weekend. Ken continued to be right there for me, providing names of mortgage brokers, inspectors and contractors he had worked with, and helping the ‘newbie’ with the home buying process in a new province with different rules – from offer to closure. Ken continued to be supportive and full of valuable information throughout the whole process. He had to put in a fair amount of extra work to make things run smoothly, as he was dealing with a seller who did not use a professional realtor, so communication and getting responses to questions and meeting deadlines was challenging for him. He kept in constant communication with me, keeping me up-to-date and feeling less stressed in this new and intimidating situation. I took possession of my first home on June 30th. Ken was right there with me to do a thorough walk through to ensure all was well. He brought beautiful housewarming gifts that included wine to celebrate my purchase and generous gift cards for a nice dinner out and for Home Depot. I felt trust and fully supported throughout this daunting first-time process, and I was confident parting with my life savings to complete the process. I can not state how important the trust component was for me during this journey. Ken has also made sure I know that as a newbie to the area, that he is available anytime for any questions or help I may need. I now consider Ken a friend, not just a professional who is good at his job. To me that is quite the accomplishment. Thank you Ken – you Rock!
