We worked with Emma Whittington for nearly two years while casually searching for a home to buy in the Comox Valley from Squamish, and she consistently treated us with care and attention throughout the entire process. We always felt like she took us seriously, and gave us her time and attention, even when we were just casually looking. Emma is prompt, professional, and brings a warm, friendly, and personable approach that made her a genuine pleasure to work with. She took us through every property we were interested in, but what set her apart was the depth of her research. She regularly uncovered important details that weren’t disclosed in listings. For example, one beautifully renovated 1930s home we were excited about still had an original septic system, and she also identified archaeological permit considerations tied to the area. That level of diligence helped us avoid risks we would not have otherwise known to look for. She also brought a practical, experienced eye to every showing. In one new build, she pointed out functional issues like insufficient entry storage, and even suggested how to structure an offer to address it. These are things we would have easily missed. Most importantly, Emma took the time to deeply understand what we were actually looking for, not just what we initially said. She guided us toward a property I would have otherwise dismissed based on the listing alone, and it turned out to be the perfect fit. We are genuinely thrilled with our home, and I credit that outcome to her insight and judgment. She went well beyond what we expected in due diligence, reviewing title details, identifying rights of way, pulling city records, and even confirming future development plans for the area. She clearly laid out both pros and cons, including factors we might not have noticed, like traffic patterns that differed from when we viewed the home. Even our lawyer commented on how thorough she had been, noting that she had already covered many of the items he would normally review. That says a lot. Emma is thoughtful, thorough, and exceptionally good at what she does. She is an outstanding example of the professionalism of the realty profession. I would not hesitate to recommend her.
