I came into this worId somewhere within the confines of St. Patrick's Hospital in Victoria BC, before the world knew the 60's would be a groovy time. Growing up in Victoria, I did all the things a west coast kid does, line jigging for crabs at The Oak Bay Marina, fishing from the end of the breakwater at Ogden Point & riding our bikes on the dirt hills of the site that would become the Hillside Mall. Started in sales at 14, I was selling Regal catalogue items door to door, back in the day when people loved to shop from the catalogue. At 16, I started in retail sales, and over the next 10 years I worked at Eaton's, Sears, & The Hudson Bay Co. The fact that two of those companies are now bankrupt & the third is in financial trouble is pure coincidence. Then at the age of 26, I entered the world of automotive sales with Canada's # 1 Toyota dealership here is Victoria, Metro Toyota, now Jim Pattison Toyota.
