People make their communities. I believe this wholeheartedly. I grew up in a family of active volunteers and realize this is an obligation of good community citizenship. I practice it every chance I get and volunteer time to sporting events and festivals, and contribute to charitable organizations focusing on children from high-risk neighbourhoods.
