Stephen is an acting director of the Fort Edmonton Park Foundation. He provides distinguished community service through his involvement and membership with the Rotary Club of Edmonton Riverview. He has also been an adult mentor with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Society of Edmonton & Area.

Extracurricular endeavors which Stephen participates in include badminton, tennis, golf, skiing, cycling and swimming. He is an avid photographer and enjoys traveling.
