The first time I met John Green, I liked his energy and his good nature right out of the gate. He spent a great deal of time answering questions and providing excellent data regarding the marketability of my house in relation to other comparable houses on the market in my town. I was concerned about selling my house with snow on the ground and cold temperatures but John encouraged me to move forward with the process because he believed in the marketability of my house and he had a strong strategy. When I had questions or concerns, John & Natasha were quick to return a text or a phone call. I was impressed with the high quality of the photos/videos (Thanks Thomas, your brilliant). I thought the write up on the house was excellent and the handouts stunning. It all made me feel quite emotional, because selling a home is an emotional experience and it requires a profound trust in someone very quickly. John & Natasha navigated me through the whole complicated process calmly and with such professional reassurance and patience, that it couldn't have been a more pleasant experience. The house sold in a snow storm during a pandemic...this might go down as a miracle in my books. I have already recommended John Green to people in my neighbourhood who have inquired about the realtor that sold a house under such conditions. In my opinion, his team is a FIVE STAR rating. I look forward to John and Natasha helping me find my new house.

In 2016 I worked with John and his partner Bruce to purchase a property in Penticton. I spoke with Bruce about looking at a certain property the next day and he made the arrangements, but said John would meet me there. For the remainder of my transaction I worked with John. When we got to the property the listing agent decided to have an impromptu open house, so I had my agent and the listing agent present while I viewed the home. Awkward!
During the negotiations for the home John made efforts to bring the sellers and myself closer together on price. However, when I told him my firm number and the sellers declined it John tried to encourage me to come up the couple thousand dollars that separated us from making the deal. I had to remind him I said firm and provided a list of other properties I wanted to see. John called back two hours later and said the sellers agreed to my firm price. Suspect!
The day I was to take possession we had specified the house was to be professionally clean. This shouldn't have been a problem since I allowed the sellers to remain in the home for 2 days after the cash to close was provided without any compensation to myself. The sellers not only had two extra days in the house but didn't want to provide keys until 4pm on the second day instead of the normal 12pm. Then I got a call from Bruce at noon saying we could drive to the house and take possession, but that he wouldn't immediately be available and neither would John. So he just told us where to find the key that the sellers had left and we took possession on our own. Unprofessional!
Upon inspection of the house it was filthy. It had not been cleaned. The shower had been used just minutes before we entered the house as the condensation could still be felt. Hair, globs of fresh toothpaste, and dirt still in the shower. The fridge had food crumbs and smears inside it and stank. There were food drippings down the side of the dishwasher and stove. The floor was so dirty and covered in debris we kept our shoes on. When Bruce arrived He instantly apologized before I even opened my mouth. So he was aware the house hadn't been cleaned before he called us to move in.
He also said that although the sellers had 2 weeks to arrange for a cleaner they hadn't. It was a Friday on December 23rd and Bruce said he had tried but couldn't find a cleaner with staff available. I was so angry that while I was talking to Bruce John kept calling and I refused to pick up. I told Bruce that while I waited for him I had called around and found a cleaner with people available and that they were on their way. I also told him he and John would be reimbursing me for not only the cleaners but the night in a hotel we would have to spend as the cleaning wouldn't be finished in time for us to move in. The carpet cleaners that I had hired separately had to empty their commercial vacuum 4 times before the could steam the carpets in the basement.
My overall impression with John was that he was interested in making a sale any way possible and my best interests were not protected or looked after.
