My husband and I, along with my grandparents dealt with Cody for the purchase of our first home. At first he seemed lovely. Until we were in the process of closing on a property. We revived the strata information and learned that there may be a rather substantial special assessment in the future so natuarally we had questions regarding what to expect and when etc. It was very difficult to get what we considered important information that drastically altered whether or not we would be going through with the purchase of this property. After i asked him questions that resulted in much back and forth answers it seemed like he didn't want to get the answers so he told me to ask the strata for the information myself which i found to be VERY unprofessional, why would strata tell me anything about a property that i do not own? We also received a forward of an email from the sellers realtor that was very harsh and rude which for me what the last straw on that particular property. We decided to pass due to all the unanswered questions and complications. On top of the difficulties of getting the information we also were told that he would be in a golfing tournament that weekend. We wanted to look at other possibilities and asked if since he would be unavailable if he could set us up with another realtor to take us around. which was finally set up after a few days of waiting. She was delightful. organized and knowledgeable on what she was showing us and if she wasn't she called someone who was right away to get the answers to our questions. This batch of properties we found one that we really liked but yet again we ran in to the same issues. Again lots of back and forth and not getting us any solid answers to the important questions that we were asking. Then AGAIN i was told to talk to the strata myself, and again understandably i was not given any information. After again more communication issues as he was unavailable AGAIN for days and didn't make arrangements for us to deal with somebody while he was unable. We closed on the second property with some stipulations that as far as were were concerned were all said and done. We moved in and then all of a sudden a month later we are told that we owe the seller money. But Cody can not tell us why, he cant tell us any information other then him being told we owe. I spoke with my lawyer and was able to get to the root of the issue. Due to LACK of communication the realtors, us and the seller were on two DIFFERENT pages. Them thinking one thing and us the opposite. The realtors made a expensive mistake on our behalf. Considering that this is their profession and that they deal with SUBSTANTIAL amounts of peoples money i feel that the communication between realtor and their client should not be a challenge and nothing about this process should the buyers have to work to get the information that they are requesting. I also felt that in some cases it took MUCH more time to get a response to something I asked vs if my grandfather asked a question which was bothersome since we were the ones making the purchase. All in all it was a very difficult process and if i had known it would continue as such i would not have stayed with Cody after the initial deal fell through. We are extremely disappointed in the way that Cody dealt with all aspects of our transaction and i will definitely not be recommending him to anybody in the future.
